Overview & Highlights

This is for you if: You want to learn all you need to know to hammock camp in style.

Join NOLI instructor and hammock camping regular Debbie Briscoe as she teaches you all you need to know to join the growing ranks of those who have made the switch from traditional tent camping to camping above the ground, or "hammock hanging."

You'll learn about the most up-to-date materials, designs and brands, as well as how to properly outfit and hang your rig for maximal portability and comfort.

Participants are encouraged to bring a camp chair to class and be prepared to take an easy stroll through the woods where Debbie will have hammocks set up for demonstration. If participants have their own rig they are welcome and encouraged to bring it as well. Age 10+.

    Riverside lodging and camping is available onsite and can be reserved directly with either  USA Raft or Nolichucky Gorge Campground.

    I certify that all registrants meet course prerequisites as defined in the course description, meet the minimum age requirements and do not have any medical conditions or limitations that would prevent their ability to safely participate in the activity.

  • Cancellation policy

    NOLI activities go rain or shine. If you cancel or decrease the number of participants in your party the following applies:

    Cancellations 30 or more days prior to your activity will receive a full refund.
    Cancellations 14-29 days prior to the activity date will receive a full reservation booking voucher.
    Cancellations 0-13 days prior to the activity date are not extended a refund or voucher.
    No Shows are not extended a refund or voucher.
