Overview & Highlights
This is for you if: You want to learn about Leave No Trace practices and how to be an environmental champion.
NOLI is proud to partner with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics to help elevate the Leave No Trace message through education and hands-on activities. Each year, Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops reach tens of thousands of people with minimum impact skills and ethics. These informative and fun classes are typically two to three hours long but can be up to a full day in length by request. They can be tailored to educators, youth, college students, scouts, outdoor professionals or anyone with an interest in learning more about Leave No Trace practices. An Awareness Workshop may also be tailored in its content such as Leave No Trace for a specific environment, a specific recreation activity or maybe just an overview of the Seven Principles. We generally incorporate a trail or riverside clean-up and pick up items of trash we come across during the workshop. This is a great way to make an immediate positive impact and reinforce what was covered in class.
The course features a short easy hike (less than 1/2 mile). Classes are typically held at our Nolichucky outpost but we may be able to come to your location as well. Register for a scheduled class or contact us to set up an event for your group. Awareness workshops are free. Suitable for all ages 7+ (age can be lower for workshops done by request).
