The Leave No Trace Trainer Course is a vital component of the national Leave No Trace program. It is a condensed version of the Master Educator Course and is designed for educators, guides, agency employees, other outdoor professionals and anyone interested in learning more about minimum impact skills and ethics and how to help educate others.
Research has shown that:
- The 2-Day Trainer Course significantly improves participants knowledge and understanding of Leave NoTrace skills and ethics
- Trainer Course participants report a change in behavior consistent with Leave No Trace skills and ethics
- 94% of Trainer Course participants go on to teach Leave No Trace after the course
This course covers the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace as well as techniques for disseminating these low impact skills. The main objective of this course is to train attendees on how to model and present the ethics to others. Various teaching methods will be introduced and discussed, and each participant will have the opportunity to present one or more of the principles to the class using innovative and engaging approaches.
The course features a short easy hike. Age 16+.
