This is for you if: You want to improve your overall paddling technique and conditioning under the direction of multiple-race winner Adam Herzog.

Discover and improve the art of upstream paddling in a safe and friendly environment. These FREE clinics are led by NOLI instructor and multiple-kayak-race-winner Adam Herzog at Ledges Whitewater Park in Asheville, NC. Attaining is not only a great workout it's also a fantastic way to elevate your strokes, maneuvering, efficiency and overall paddling. Clinics are divided into Attainment 101, Attainment 201 and Attainment 301. 2024 dates TBD.
  • Attainment Clinic 101:  Review paddling fundamentals and strokes then learn the basics of upstream ferries and using river features to work your way upstream. 
  • Attainment Clinic 201:  Build on fundamentals, strokes and ferries and add elevator moves.
  • Attainment Clinic 301:  Already have solid attainment skills and looking to elevate your game? Stop LSD (long slow distance) training and break out of your routine with a fun and competitive interval workout.
For experienced whitewater kayakers with class 3 or greater skills and a roll. Participants are expected to bring their own boat and gear but Adam will have long boats on hand if interested in using during the clinic (as available).

  • Prerequisites

    • Class 3 or better kayak skills
    • A roll
    • Own boat and paddling gear
    • Good overall health and fitness
    • Participants must be willing to wear a PFD (personal flotation device) and helmet while on the water

    Limited to 4 participants per clinic. It's ok to sign up for more than one clinic. Registration required.

  • What to Bring

    Whitewater kayak, paddle, PFD, helmet, sprayskirt, drinking water, closed-toe water shoes (open-toed footwear, sandals not permitted), throwbag (if you have one), suitable clothing for wear on the water (wicking, non-cotton base layers, paddle tops or drysuits as appropriate). Adam will have long boats onhand for those interested in trying them during the clinic.

    I certify that all registrants meet course prerequisites as defined in the course description, meet the minimum age requirements and do not have any medical conditions or limitations that would prevent their ability to safely participate in the activity.

  • Cancellation policy

    NOLI activities go rain or shine. If you cancel or decrease the number of participants in your party the following applies:

    Cancellations 30 or more days prior to your activity will receive a full refund.
    Cancellations 14-29 days prior to the activity date will receive a full reservation booking voucher.
    Cancellations 0-13 days prior to the activity date are not extended a refund or voucher.
    No Shows are not extended a refund or voucher.
