Overview & Highlights
The Paddlesports Safety Facilitator (PSF) instructor endorsement certifies current Level 1-2 ACA paddlecraft instructors to be able to teach a Paddlesports Safety Facilitator Program. The PSF program teaches basic safety and paddling knowledge, as well as simple rescue skills for their respective paddle discipline (e.g., kayak, canoe, raft, etc). This certification allows the instructor to introduce paddlecraft safety and knowledge to the beginner paddler in a land-based setting. Fundamentally, we expect that Paddlesports Safety Facilitators should have the ability to manage groups, have background knowledge of paddling safety and environmental hazards, and the ability to effectively maneuver their craft in order to perform and demonstrate competent rescue techniques. Facilitators are encouraged to report all Paddlesports Safety classes taught while certified. This is a 4 year certification. For more on the PSF program click here. Minimum age is 18.
