Overview & Highlights
This is for you if: You want to take your creeking skills to the next level on some of the Southeast's classic class 4/4+ creeks.
If you are an experienced creek boater and want to take your creeking to the next level, join one of our experienced instructors as they lead you down one of the region’s more advanced creeks working on the techniques that will help you become comfortable and proficient running these more demanding rivers. The focus will be on both reinforcing existing skills and learning advanced techniques to navigate steeper, more technical rapids as students spend the day on one of the area’s class 4/4+ creeks working on more challenging moves and lines. There will also be a strong focus on hazard identification and management and will include frequent scouting and setting safety for others in the group. Strong class 4 or greater skills and a bombproof roll are required (you will be asked to demonstrate your roll before moving downriver). Age 16+. Primary venue is the lower mile of the Green Narrows, a dam-released class 4/4+ section of river with predictable flows. As such, it requires participants to hike up the riverside trail approximately one mile with their boat and gear to access the put-in. Other venues if they're running include the Watauga, Doe and similar rivers in Northeast Tennessee and Western NC.
